Britain's 2-Man Submarine Counterpack - Set # 4302
Mint Original Counter Pack Box - Dealer Stock
12 sets (24 figures, 12 submarines, 12 counterweights) - removable painted plastic figures - sub floats
This is the Britain's human torpedo, based on the Royal Navy's WWII Chariot Mk.I model (which itself was based on the Italian 2-man sub). These British submarines were used in the latter part of WW2. The toy is 185 mm long. The main body is bluish-green plastic, with a red nose, and tail. The two divers are black plastic, with orange painted stripes on their wet suits, and painted orange face mask plates. The twin air tanks are yellow plastic, the mouth piece plugs in to a hole in the face. There are 2 paper stickers attached to either side of the rear, each with a British flag and RN S2 in white. To ensure the model stands upright, and to allow it to float upright in water, the base is unpainted metal. This feature was also seen on other Britain's floating models in the 1970s.The underside of the item reads "BRITAINS LTD - ENGLAND - COPYRIGHT 1976," "2 MAN - SUBMARINE" at the bottom and "REG.DSGNNO.977778" at the front.
This is a mint, unopened, complete counter pack boxed set - please note that the figures have jostled loose but are all present. Only one version of this set was ever produced, in 1976.
