Fighting Through! D-Day Tri-Series Playset #2
The battle for the Normandy beaches was brutal and hard-fought, due to the prepared defenses of the Germans, which allowed them to pre-sight their mortars, machine guns and artillery on specific beach zones. But the Allies were determined to fight their way through.
Despite heavy casualties and many units pinned down by enemy fire, small groups of GI's, Tommies and Canucks launched improvised attacks against the formidable German emplacements and seized them, often at great cost.
Can your troops, who include American, British and Canadian infantry, penetrate the German Atlantic Wall, defended by Nazi infantry, elite paratroops and a German 88mm gun? You will re-fight this battle using the splendid Form Tech WWII D-Day defense work. This 4-piece Atlantic Wall Bunker and Trench System is 53 inches wide x 14 inches deep x 7 inches high. It features a central concrete artillery position with removable roof and flanking trenches for support troops. It has been completely painted by the manufacturer, adding much more detail to the superbly-sculpted pieces. It is one of the wonders of the toy soldier world. The trenches are floored with wood and have raised firing platforms to enable defenders to shoot over the top of the sandbagged parapets. The central artillery command bunker is open at the back and holds a German 88mm gun.
This is one of three different, but inter-connected, Toy Soldier Company D-Day Playsets. Each set can stand on its own, but when combined with the other two sets from the same range the resulting collection creates a broad canvas upon which you and your kids can rewrite history! Please note that the contents of each set are almost entirely different from the others in the range. When combining all three sets you will save a further 10% off the cost of the trio.
