Manufactured exclusively for us by Form Tech, this is an historically accurate model based on the famed Federal ironclad, U.S.S. Monitor, which fought The Virginia to a standstill off Hampton Roads in the World's first ironclad engagement. The ship is a large waterline model, constructed of sturdy foam and painted gray, and it measures 20 inches long x 8 wide x 4 1/2 high. It's a 2-piece vessel, with a single solid deck and a hollow casemate to sit atop it. The casemate can be lifted off. With this vessel you can place 2 naval guns and 6 crewmen inside. (54mm metal figures shown for scale, not incuded in the set)
