Painted Plastic 54mm (1/32nd - about 2 1/4 inches high)
Dirtied down green color, Eastern Front and European Theater1939-45. This heavy tank was twice the weight of the German tanks which opposed it during the initial invasion of the Soviet Union. It boasted armor so thick it could not be penetrated by 75mm and 88mm shells except at point-blank range, but was slow and difficult to steer, the transmission was unreliable, its turret was slow to pivot and it suffered from poor visibility. As the Germans produced more effective anti-tank weaponry, the KV-1 was produced with thicker armor and a better gun, but eventually it was retired as too clumsy alongside the better designed, faster and more easily-produced T-34. Nevertheless, during the early part of the war against the Nazis, the KV-1 was one of the few Russian weapons systems which could go toe-to-toe against the Germans. The set includes 1 crewman, 2 bunches of heavy trees to provide traction when the vehicle had to be extricated from the mud, and smaller accessories. This item is out of production, but stock remains.
