The Cold War Gets Hot!

The inevitable outcome of the growing tensions between the "free" nations who had triumphed over the Axis during the Second World War and the Communist states of China and the Soviet Union which had grown in power during the same period, erupted into war on the Korean Peninsula in 1950. America forces led the fight against North Korea's invasion of its South Korean neighbor, and was joined by many other nations, fighting under the flag of the fledgling United Nations to restore the South to its pre-war borders. In many battles, small and large, the advantage see-sawed back and forth between the two sides, especially once China joined the outmatched North Korean forces. In this playset, U.S. Infantry fight an engagement against North Korean troops (many of them armed and equipped with WWII surplus Russian uniforms and weapons). The G.I.'s are supported by the newly-deployed Patton tank, while the Communists utilize a Russian T-34 tank and a vintage field gun..
