Our Collection of Painted Metal 54mm (1/32nd - about 2 1/4 inches high)
Before it was set in stone that the Union Army wore blue and the Confederates wore gray, several state regiments had adopted the "wrong" colors for their uniforms. At the first Battle of Bull Run, both the 1st and 2nd New Hampshire regiments were dress as pictured, in gray uniforms with red facings. This caused some confusion before their true identity was realized.
Imrie Miniatures are highly detailed models. They are beautifully sculpted in authentic uniforms, based on lengthy historical research. Each figure is very "dimensional," as it is made up of several parts which must be glued together. This is quite different from the average metal model from most manufacturers which tend to look flatter because they come out of the mold in one piece. Our painter first trims off any mold "flash" from the raw metal pieces (which can number up to 6 different elements in foot models and well over a dozen in mounted models). He then assembles each model with a special glue. Next he fills in any gaps with modeling putty. He then primes the figure to seal the metal. Finally he paints the figure in the toy soldier style.
