Our Collection of Painted Metal 54mm (1/32nd - about 2 1/4 inches high)
Created and produced just before the beginning of the American Civil War, the Parrott Rifle was far more accurate than the smoothbore "Napoleon", as well as being more powerful and firing out to a longer range. the most widely deployed cannon of the 19th century. It was fielded by both the North and South throughout the War. We show 2 views of the gun, and include an Imrie 54mm figure to show scale.
Imrie Miniatures are highly detailed models. Each is very "dimensional," as it is made up of several parts which must be glued together. This is quite different from the average metal model from most manufacturers which tend to look flatter because they come out of the mold in one piece. Our painter first trims off any mold "flash" from the raw metal pieces (which can number up to 6 different elements in foot models and well over a dozen in mounted models). He then assembles each model with a special glue. Next he fills in any gaps with modeling putty. He then primes the figure to seal the metal. Finally he paints the figure in the toy soldier style.
