Our Collection of Painted Metal 54mm (1/32nd - about 2 1/4 inches high)
This is the gloss (shiny finished) version of the set. The writer H.G. Wells invented modern war gaming. Playing with Britain's toy soldiers on his living room rug and on his lawn, he and his friends maneuvered their troops using a set of rules he wrote to create battles. Troops were moved using rules or lengths of string, and were shot down with projectiles fired from Britain's cannon. Here is Wells at play on his rug, with some of his troops, a building and a very important piece of string. You can purchase a replica set of rules for this game in the books section of our web site.
