Britains Deetail Foot Knights (5 Champion Knights in Assorted Poses)

5 dismounted figures in 5 poses - swiveling painted plastic figures on metal bases

This retired set was produced by Britains in 1993. It features 5 figures in 5 different poses in pristine, mint condition. They are packed in their original window display box which has never been opened. As we have more than one of these sets, the photographs of the box and figure poses may not precisely match what you will receive, but we guarantee that you will receive a mint, unopened box of the same vintage and condition as the one shown. We purchased this set directly from Britains and have stored it for over 2 decades in our climate-controlled, smoke-free warehouse. Nevertheless, the box, although stored carefully, may be in less-than perfect condition due to mishandling or mis-packing from the manufacturer. Boxes may have slight dings, rubs, tears or other flaws and are sold in as-is condition.

The photo of the six loose figures shows a representation of the type of models you will receive - we have multiple sets and every set varies (as written on the box in Britain's description). We cannot guarantee which poses you will receive. Pose selection for the set you receive will depend on how Britains employees packed them that day.

The photo of the disassembled figure shows the component parts of each model: every figure is made up of several socket-mounted pieces. The elements include a helmet head with interchangeable plug-in crest, upper body front half, right arm with ring hand to allow weapons interchangeability, upper body back mounted on a set of legs and left arm ring hand allowing you to change shields between models. Body parts are NOT interchangeable on these figures. Only helmet-crests and weapons can be swapped, and you do so at your own risk - we cannot replace broken or missing parts. THESE FIGURES ARE NOT SWAPPABLE - THEY ARE NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN APART

These models were first produced in 1993, and are the first version of an experimental style of figure. Heads, upper bodies and arms swivel in sockets, making the entire range poseable. This was the most ambitious plastic figure project Britain's ever undertook! They assembled a huge variety of pieces into a wide range of poses and figure types. We have identified over 180 variations possible in the foot line, and 48 in the mounted line! Every figure features movable arms, heads and waists, making them truly poseable. And because there are 3 different body torsos, 4 different sets of legs and 4 different head types this results in 48 different basic poses. Now, if you multiply this number by the 12 different helmet crest designs, suddenly, faster than you can shout "Zoiks Gadzooks!" you have an entire army of figures, every one of which is different from the other!

This box is part of the "Knights of the Sword" series which Britains debuted in 1986. The range included boxed sets, counterpacks, castles, a siege tower and numerous related accessory packs, some of them carded and others boxed. In some cases, they released different sets with the same set numbers as others in the range. For example, they issued two different sets numbered 7801 and 7802. Both were called "Foot  Knights (5 Assorted Figures)" but one contained one mix of Champion Knights while the other contained a different selection from the same range. What sets these two numbered boxes apart at the identification level is that they had different set numbers and different bar codes on them. This is why we are listing the bar code for each set when available.
