In this playset, U.S. Marines and Infantry must secure the heavily-fortified gate complex which stand guard over the road from China into North Korea. The centerpiece of this set is a high-quality hand-painted resin-cast Asian terrain piece which was retired from production in 2018. This free-standing model measures 17 inches wide x 3.3 inches deep x 11.8 inches high and is built to last!. 4 Ruined Buildings and 2 Pillboxes complete the complex.
The inevitable outcome of the growing tensions between the "free" nations who had triumphed over the Axis during the Second World War and the Communist states of China and the Soviet Union which had grown in power during the same period, erupted into war on the Korean Peninsula in 1950. America forces led the fight against North Korea's invasion of its South Korean neighbor, and was joined by many other nations, fighting under the flag of the fledgling United Nations to restore the South to its pre-war borders. In many battles, small and large, the advantage see-sawed back and forth between the two sides, especially once China joined the outmatched North Korean forces.
