The dress reform of the British Army in 1812 resulted in the light dragoons adopting a Polish lancer jacket with a French-style shako. Their equipment remained the sabre and the carbine (the short Paget carbine). Although equipped for outpost duties, they were often employed for shock actions as well when there was insufficient heavy cavalry in the field.
The Light Dragoon officer’s uniform was similar to the troopers except for extra lace on his shoulder belt and a more elaborate sabretache.
Cast in Prussian blue color. Horse colors vary. Some assembly required.
