From ancient times soldiers have sought cover from archers attempting to wound or kill them by seeking shelter behind a "mantelet" or arrow shield. This wheeled wooden device should do the trick.
Each Aoshima set includes a group of multi-piece figures, and several also contain accessories and larger scenic settings. Every box includes full step-by-step assembly diagrams, detailed color painting guides for decoration and photos of the set in assembled and painted form, sometimes incorporated into a larger diorama with other sets from the series. As the Era of the Samurai lasted from the Middle Ages through the middle of the 19th Century, this kit can be used over a span of 800 years.

The box holding the set is slightly damaged with two rips on the right side. Many parts have been removed from their sprues. Impossible to tell if all the parts are included, thus the low price. The illustrated sheets are slightly ripped.
