This is the retired first version of the set. The current version has figures with "ring hands", allowing the placement of a variety of weapons in their grasp. Persia's light cavalrymen were famed as the greatest horse soldiers of their age. These unarmored troops carried bows, javelins and axes, and were meant to scout for the army, skirmish with opposing cavalrymen and pursue fleeing units. The troops are cast in tan colored plastic and are in perfect scale to Expeditionary Force's Greeks, as well as Toy Soldiers of San Diego's and Fencibles' ancient-era figures. Set includes one officer and 4 unarmored cavalrymen which can be equipped with bows, axes or javelins. Horses, cast in a variety of colors, can be glued to their bases.
